Overview

Yapp is a digital pharmacy marketplace and insurance reimbursement platform for health insurers and consumers in Chile. The platform allows users to compare medication prices across more than 2,000 pharmacy locations and complete purchases online, while integrating supplementary health insurance coverage directly into the checkout workflow for immediate reimbursement.

The platform connects independent pharmacies with insured patients through a SaaS model, enabling pharmacies to accept complementary health insurance for the first time and giving policyholders access to real-time reimbursements without requiring large pharmacy chain membership. Integrations with insurance carriers allow coverage to be applied at point of purchase, with free shipping available for covered orders.

Yapp raised USD 2.6M in seed funding from ChileGlobal Angels and Taram Capital. In August 2023, the company announced a partnership with Seguros SURA, one of Chile's major insurance carriers, making supplementary health insurance reimbursement available to 250,000+ policyholders at independent pharmacies -- a first in Chile's market. The initial rollout covered 16 outlets from Liga Chilena contra la Epilepsia, with planned expansion to more than 500 locations.
