Simply Business is a digital insurance brokerage serving small business owners in the United States and United Kingdom. It matches customers with commercial coverage from a panel of 18 carriers, including Liberty Mutual, Travelers, CNA, Arch Insurance, Hiscox, Markel, RLI, and biBERK, spanning more than 400 business types.

The brokerage places General Liability, Workers' Compensation, Professional Liability, and Business Owner's Policy (BOP) coverage for small businesses across construction, e-commerce, food service, professional services, wellness, retail, and maintenance sectors. Customers get online quotes in roughly ten minutes and mobile-accessible proof-of-insurance certificates. Simply Business reports more than one million customers worldwide and is a subsidiary of Travelers Companies.

Distribution runs through both a direct-to-business digital channel and a partner-gated API that lets outside platforms embed Simply Business quote-and-bind flows into their own products; named partners include H&R Block, Thumbtack, Found, and UENI. In 2025 the company added a RAG-based AI insurance advisor built on Claude Sonnet 4.5, which won "SMB InsurTech Solution of the Year" at the 2026 FinTech Breakthrough Awards, and in April 2026 it launched a ChatGPT app that returns instant small-business insurance price estimates from inside ChatGPT.

ChatGPT Insurance App

Launched April 2026 for the US and UK. Users enter business type, estimated annual revenue, and ZIP code inside ChatGPT and receive an immediate small-business insurance price estimate, a distribution channel embedded directly inside a third-party AI assistant.

Partner API / Embedded Insurance

A partner-gated REST API, available through the Strategic Partnerships program, that provides embedded quote-and-bind flows plus webhooks for bind, payment, and renewal events. Co-branded, private-label partner experiences are also available with minimal integration work required from the partner's technical team.
