Overview

Clark is a digital insurance brokerage serving individual consumers across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the UK, France, and the Netherlands. Customers link their existing policies to the Clark app or web platform, which analyzes coverage against pricing and terms from more than 180 insurance providers and lets users compare, switch, add, or cancel contracts directly within the product.

The company covers personal lines including liability, household and contents, disability, pet, legal protection, accident, health, and retirement or pension planning. A team of licensed human advisors is available by phone, messenger, or email to support the app's recommendations. Clark operates from its Frankfurt headquarters with additional offices in Berlin, Puettlingen, and Vienna.

Founded in 2015 out of the Finleap company builder by Dr. Christopher Oster, Steffen Glomb, Dr. Marco Adelt, and Chris Lodde, Clark reports more than 700,000 direct app customers and, combined with acquired brands, 2-3 million customers across its markets. In 2023 the company recorded its first positive operating result on revenue above EUR135M, up 35% year over year. Clark raised a EUR69M Series C led by Tencent in 2021 and, the same year, integrated the finanzen Group lead-generation business through a share swap with Allianz X, which became its largest minority shareholder.
