Overview

Worthright was a Boston-based life settlement technology platform founded in December 2019 that helped seniors and their families access the value embedded in existing life insurance policies to fund retirement and long-term care costs. The company worked at the intersection of insurance, elder care finance, and home care operations, enabling policyholders to sell or monetize policies they could no longer afford or no longer needed.

The platform provided free policy appraisals and referrals to licensed life settlement brokers, assessing policy value, modeling settlement offers, and coordinating transactions between sellers, advisors, and institutional buyers without acting as a broker or policy buyer itself. Worthright later expanded into a shared family banking layer and payment management tools for home care agencies, helping them offer financial assistance options to clients facing care funding gaps.

Worthright participated in the Techstars Boston 2020 accelerator cohort and worked with over 50 home care agencies and hundreds of families before ceasing operations on August 5, 2022. The company received USD 120,000 from the Techstars program along with support from MassChallenge and Walnut Ventures. Total documented funding including a 2020 PPP loan was approximately USD 139,862.
