Overview

onpier is a B2B insurtech infrastructure platform for insurance carriers in the German market, enabling them to offer non-insurance value-added services to policyholders through a centrally managed, API-based ecosystem. The platform was founded in 2021 and is headquartered in Munich, Germany.

The core product operates as an app-store-like marketplace: insurers connect to the onpier platform via API and gain access to a catalog of third-party service providers -- ranging from vehicle registration and valuation to doctor search and IoT water sensors. onpier handles integration, partner management, and data coordination, while keeping policyholder data under the control of each insurer (GDPR-compliant by design). Services are deployable as white-labeled offerings under the insurer brand.

The platform is used by more than eight major German carriers, including HUK-COBURG, LVM Versicherung, Debeka, DEVK, and ERGO. LVM Versicherung participated as a seed investor in December 2022, reflecting dual status as both customer and backer. onpier reports approximately 52 employees as of April 2026.
