Overview
MyCoverGenius is a distribution platform for health, auto, gadget, and travel insurance aimed at startups and small and medium-sized businesses in Nigeria. The company positions itself as a technology layer rather than an insurer, partnering with regulated Nigerian carriers to underwrite the policies sold through its platform.
The platform lets business owners buy coverage directly, enroll and manage employee benefits, file claims digitally, and adjust coverage as headcount changes. MyCoverGenius states it offers access to more than 30 insurance products through an open API that integrates with partner carriers, alongside a web-based dashboard for administrators and a mobile app for covered employees.
MyCoverGenius underwrites policies through partnerships with Leadway Insurance, Hygeia, Sovereign Trust, Custodian, Tangerine Allianz, and AIICO Insurance. In a March 2026 partnership, food delivery platform Chowdeck began offering MyCoverGenius-administered personal accident insurance to more than 20,000 delivery riders.
