Overview
Les Affranchis is a P&C claims management platform for auto accident victims in France. Founded in 2015 in Aubière by Benjamin Labonne (a body shop owner with a doctorate in physics) and Steve Saez (a bodily injury damages expert), the company was built to rebalance the relationship between accident victims and insurance companies in favor of non-responsible policyholders.
The platform operates on a direct recourse model: when a driver is not at fault in an auto accident, Les Affranchis takes over the full claims administration on their behalf, coordinating with independent medical experts, automotive repair specialists, and specialized road-law legal professionals. Clients pay no upfront fees. A companion tool, Verifconstat.fr, provides independent online liability assessments for drivers who upload their accident report and receive a fault determination within 24 hours. Internal claims investigation is supported by COLT, a proprietary big data document analysis tool.
The company was incubated at Le Bivouac, Clermont-Ferrand's startup hub, and has raised a EUR 1M seed round from Credit Agricole Centre France and Sofimac Partners. French media and industry observers have designated the company an "assurtech."
