The company was founded in 2019 as a spin-out from Drysource, a restoration subcontractor, by CEO Kevin Dooley and co-founders Marc Lennox, Meghan Dagenais, and Chris Wise. The platform combines physical beacon hardware with cloud software to track equipment and assets across job sites, vehicles, trailers, and warehouses. Restoration jobs are monitored in real time, with drying conditions and job progress documented automatically. The system integrates with restoration workflow software including Encircle, Raven, Albi, Salesforce, and fleet management platforms, giving carriers and contractors a central source of truth for equipment utilization and job data.
Kahi has tracked over 565,000 job sites on its platform. One customer reported generating an additional USD 750,000 in equipment rental revenue during catastrophe response by using Kahi tracking data. The company raised a CAD 2.3M seed round in 2024 led by BDC Capital Seed Venture Fund to support headcount growth from approximately 20 to 35 employees.
