Kadance
Genomics-based precision health management embedded in life and critical illness insurance policies
Overview
Kadance is a genomics-based precision health management platform for life, critical illness, and long-term care insurance carriers. The company partners with insurers to deliver genetic testing and clinical support programs as value-add benefits embedded in insurance policies, targeting policyholders at risk for hereditary cancers and adverse drug reactions.
The platform integrates three core services -- hereditary cancer risk assessment, pharmacogenomics testing, and personalized health navigation -- delivered as a living benefit rider or standalone consumer offering. Kadance operates its own genetic testing lab through its 2023 acquisition of Kailos Genetics, which has tested over 50,000 patients and detected more than seven million genetic variants. Clinical support is provided by oncology nurse navigators and molecular pathologists.
The company distributes through insurance carriers including Chubb, Nationwide, and Hannover Re. Kadance, formerly known as healthOme, rebranded in January 2025 and closed a Preferred Seed round in May 2024 led by American Family Ventures and AllegisNL Capital. A strategic investment from Nassau Financial Group followed in 2026.
