Hiscox is a global specialist insurer with roots stretching back to 1901, when the Roberts agency began underwriting marine insurance at Lloyd's of London. Ralph Hiscox joined the agency in 1938 and formed the Roberts & Hiscox partnership in 1946, managing syndicates at Lloyd's.
