Overview

Exante is a SaaS platform that enables insurers, carriers, and product companies to build and launch parametric insurance products. Founded in 2019 by Chris Lee and Aidan Breen -- both with prior experience on innovation projects at a major European re-insurer -- the company focuses on automating the technical complexity of parametric product design and delivery.

The platform handles data ingestion, pricing, policy management, and claims processing through a trigger-based architecture that monitors external data sources including weather feeds, financial transaction data, and solar radiation measurements. Insurance products can be configured, piloted, and deployed in hours rather than months. Clients include insurers and companies embedding parametric coverage into physical products such as solar panels and holiday packages.

Exante operates with a lean team and is bootstrapped. Notable commercial relationships include Mastercard (business continuity indicator data for business interruption payouts) and Zurich Insurance Group (underwriting parametric solar radiation coverage for Plenitude, an Italian energy company).
