Overview

Cleverea is a personal lines MGA operating in Spain that underwrites and distributes insurance directly to consumers through a mobile-first digital platform. The company covers mobility (cars, motorcycles, scooters, bicycles), home (homeowners and renters), life, and pet liability lines, and also distributes through a B2B2C embedded insurance channel targeting neobanks, fintechs, airlines, telecom operators, and brokers.

The company underwrites its programs under Spain's insurance regulatory authority (DGSFP), operating as a registered insurance subscription agency (code AS-0103). It applies machine learning algorithms to fraud detection and pricing across all its lines. The mobile app provides policyholders with end-to-end self-service for contract management, claims reporting, and roadside assistance requests.

Cleverea was founded in 2019 by twin brothers Javier Bosch and Joan Bosch and co-founder Alvaro Sanz. It raised a EUR 5M seed round in December 2021 led by Stride.VC with participation from Inveready, Bonsai Partners, TA Ventures, and FJ Labs. As of late 2025 the company had accumulated over 3,000 customer reviews on Google at an average rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars.
