Overview

Blackshark.ai is a geospatial AI infrastructure provider for carriers, governments, and enterprises requiring property risk intelligence, simulation, and physical AI training data. The company processes satellite and aerial imagery into structured 3D models of the built environment, enabling use cases in property risk assessment, underwriting support, claims damage analysis, and disaster response. Insurance is an explicitly targeted vertical alongside defense, smart cities, and autonomous systems.

The platform operates three core capabilities: HUNTR, an AI-driven analyst platform for infrastructure detection and change monitoring; VEOS, a distributed processing engine that converts raw imagery into structured world models; and REPLIKA, a 3D reconstruction system that produces simulation-ready environments from 2D imagery. The company also operates a 100-GPU NVIDIA H100 cluster processing 7 million km squared of imagery daily, extracting 100 million infrastructure objects from trillions of pixels. Deployment options include cloud, on-premise, and edge infrastructure.

Blackshark.ai spun out of Austrian gaming studio Bongfish in 2020 when the founding team recognized that procedural world-generation techniques could be adapted to teach machines to understand physical terrain. The company has raised USD 35M across two Series A tranches, backed by Microsoft M12, Point72 Ventures, In-Q-Tel, Safran, Capgemini Ventures, and Maxar Technologies. It serves 25+ governments and enterprises globally and reported USD 11.6M ARR as of mid-2024.

Products & Services

HUNTR

HUNTR is an AI-driven analyst platform for infrastructure and terrain detection, extraction, and change monitoring across large geospatial datasets. Operators use it to train, test, and deploy AI/ML object detection and classification models on imagery at scale.

Key Features

  • AI/ML model training and exploitation for object detection and classification
  • Change detection across large imagery datasets
  • Operator-driven workflow for geospatial intelligence analysis

Target Users: Governments, defense agencies, enterprise geospatial analysts, insurers assessing property risk

VEOS

VEOS is a distributed processing platform that ingests raw satellite and aerial imagery and transforms it into structured world models. It serves as the data backbone for Blackshark.ai downstream applications.

Key Features

  • Large-scale imagery ingestion, transformation, and delivery
  • Automated feature extraction from trillions of pixels
  • 7 million km squared daily processing capacity

Target Users: Enterprise platforms, government mapping programs, insurance data pipelines

REPLIKA

REPLIKA is a 3D reconstruction technology that generates simulation-ready environments from 2D imagery. It produces photorealistic digital replicas of real-world locations for AI training, testing, and digital twin applications.

Key Features

  • 2D to 3D reconstruction from satellite and aerial imagery
  • Photorealistic, geo-referenced environment generation
  • Simulation-ready outputs for AI training and testing workflows

Target Users: Defense simulation programs, autonomous vehicle developers, urban planning, property risk modelers

SYNTH3D (Partnership with Maxar Technologies)

A high-resolution 3D planetary representation co-developed with Maxar Technologies. Provides developers and creators the ability to simulate and visualize real-world 3D environments with semantic information derived from satellite imagery.

Target Users: Simulation developers, AV companies, geospatial integrators

Prepar3D Fuse (Partnership with Lockheed Martin)

A next-generation military simulation platform jointly developed with Lockheed Martin, unveiled in December 2025. Built on Unreal Engine 5, it delivers full-earth globe coverage with geo-referenced airports, high-resolution cityscapes, and AI-driven simulation forces.

Target Users: Military training programs, defense agencies
