Overview

Osprey Solutions is a digital underwriting and reporting platform for war risk marine insurers, brokers, and shipowners. The company is based in Oslo, Norway, and was formed in 2019.

The platform, TripAdmin, combines real-time vessel position tracking with automated underwriting and policy generation. Geofencing and configurable underwriting algorithms tied to a vessel's location trigger policy issuance and flag transit through high-risk trading areas, reducing manual review and documentation errors. A companion IoT Starter Kit feeds AIS/GPS vessel position data into the platform, extending automation from underwriting into ongoing monitoring. Osprey Solutions is owned by Den Norske Krigsforsikring for Skib (DNK), a Norwegian war risks mutual insurer founded in 1935 that covers nearly all Norwegian ships, drilling rigs, and mobile offshore units against war, terrorism, and piracy risks. The company operates as DNK's technology arm rather than as an externally VC-funded startup, and no external funding rounds have been disclosed.
