Overview

Babel Cover is an insurtech infrastructure company that designs and operates a shared ledger-based trading venue for insurance. The platform connects carriers, MGAs, and algorithmic trading participants in a common digital environment, with the goal of removing structural inefficiencies from insurance transaction processes while preserving regulatory and legal integrity.

The company delivers fully digital, end-to-end insurance products -- covering sign-up, quotation, purchase, policy management, and claims -- built on a private capital infrastructure model. Products are deployed in partnership with licensed insurers and established distribution channels. Babel Cover also offers a Capital Interface product that structures participation in private contingent capital supporting discretionary mutual collectives within a defined annual capital stack.

Founded in 2018 by Stuart King, Babel Cover launched its first product, digital bicycle insurance, through a partnership with Atlas Insurance (Malta) and Piprate. It has since expanded into motorcycle insurance, with deployments in French Polynesia through Poe-ma Insurances and in the UK through the British Motorcycle Insurance Community (BMIC), launched in January 2025 in partnership with Warranty Solutions Group. The company secured multi-million seed financing in 2024 led by Markd, an insurtech-focused venture fund.
