PlanYear
AI-native benefits consulting platform that automates renewal workflows, document processing, and client Q&A for insurance brokers
Overview
PlanYear is a benefits workflow automation platform serving insurance brokers, benefits consultants, and employers in the group benefits segment. Founded in July 2022 by benefits consulting practitioners Tariq Hilaly and Senthil Nagarajan, the company addresses the manual processes that consume consultant time during renewals, client communications, and carrier negotiations.
The BEACON platform delivers AI-driven automation across the benefits consulting lifecycle: document intelligence for carrier data extraction, census standardization, renewal workflow orchestration, RFP drafting, and an embedded AI assistant (SAGE) trained on each client's benefits programs. The platform is delivered as a SaaS application with integrations into existing benefits consulting tools and carrier systems.
PlanYear raised a USD 12M seed round in October 2025 led by True Ventures. Eight of the top 20 U.S. brokerage firms are reported customers, including Acrisure, USI, OneDigital, Lockton, and Alera. Early customers report up to 75% reduction in manual data entry, 50% faster renewal completion, and approximately 57% of employee benefits questions resolved automatically without consultant involvement.
