Overview

Gleam is a health benefits administration platform for employers offering Individual Coverage HRA (ICHRA) and group HRA plans. The platform enables businesses to set a fixed monthly budget per employee and allow workers to select individual health insurance plans from any carrier in the market, replacing or supplementing traditional group health coverage.

The platform handles the administrative and compliance workload associated with HRA management: budget configuration, reimbursement processing, HIPAA and ERISA compliance automation, ACA reporting (Forms 1094-B/1095-B and 1094-C/1095-C), COBRA administration, and payroll system integration. Employees access their HRA benefits through a Gleam-branded Visa card issued by Celtic Bank, or receive reimbursements directly to their bank accounts. Financial services are provided in partnership with Stripe, with HRA funds held at Fifth Third Bank and Evolve Bank and Trust.

Founded in 2023 by Oliver Keh and Emeka Itegbe, Gleam participated in Y Combinator's Summer 2023 (S23) batch and raised a pre-seed round from investors including Focal, 1984 Ventures, Hustle Fund, and Liquid 2 Ventures. The company targets small businesses through enterprise employers with a tiered pricing model and operates under Gleam Care, Inc., with Gleam Insurance Services as its licensed insurance subsidiary.
