CargoSnap is a cargo inspection and documentation platform for logistics service providers and shippers, primarily serving the P&C Commercial and Specialty/E&S insurance sectors. Founded in 2017 in Utrecht, Netherlands by Marcel Merkx, the company helps carriers and brokers reduce disputed damage claims by creating structured, traceable records of cargo condition throughout the supply chain.

The platform delivers a cloud-based SaaS portal combined with a mobile application (iOS and Android) that captures photos, videos, temperature readings, barcodes, and QR codes tied to specific cargo handling steps. Each record is timestamped and geo-tagged, supporting inbound/outbound handoffs, exception logging, and step-by-step checklist completion. A REST API and webhook layer integrates with WMS, TMS, and ERP systems -- CargoSnap achieved SAP certification in 2023. No complex IT project is required for standard implementations.

CargoSnap operates across 30+ countries, serving global and mid-size logistics companies in North America, Latin America, Europe, and India. Seed funding came from the Rotterdam Port Fund in 2020. The company was selected for the Lloyd'''s Lab accelerator (Cohort 1) in 2018 and the SAP.iO Foundry Latin America program in 2022. Gartner named CargoSnap a Cool Vendor in Supply Chain Technologies in 2019.
