Overview
Cara is an AI automation platform for independent insurance agencies and brokerages. The system integrates with existing agency management systems (AMS) and CRM platforms to automate the operational workflows that consume a significant portion of an agent's workday -- tasks such as coverage comparisons, proposal generation, certificates of insurance, ACORD form completion, and errors and omissions reviews. Tasks that previously took approximately 90 minutes can be completed in approximately 2 minutes.
The platform is built around four modules: Copilot (a coordination hub for workflow management and team collaboration), Servicing (automated handling of inbound client requests via email, voice, and web chat), Knowledge (an internal repository for agency documentation and account data), and Communication (multi-channel AI for voice, email, and web client interactions). The platform runs as a SaaS product and connects to AMS and CRM systems via API.
Cara raised a USD 8M seed round in March 2026 led by Kearny Jackson, with angel participation from the former COO of Stripe, the CEO of Vouch Insurance, and a member of OpenAI's startups and partnerships team. The company reached seven-figure ARR in seven months, with more than 80% of customers acquired through word-of-mouth referrals. Notable customers include The McGowan Companies, Atlas Insurance Brokers, ISU Steadfast, Combined Agents of America, and FirstChoice.
