Overview

Project Ferro is an insurance data management platform for commercial property and casualty (P&C) brokers, agents, and their insured clients. Founded in spring 2021 and based in Omaha, Nebraska, the company addresses the intake and data-gathering friction that slows commercial insurance renewals -- what it describes as the "first mile" problem -- by giving policyholders a single, structured place to maintain their own asset and risk data.

The platform is a SaaS application that allows insureds to self-manage asset schedules (property locations, equipment, vehicles, and other insurable items), track changes throughout the policy year, and share that data with brokers and carriers via one-click export. It integrates with Agency Management Systems (AMS) and positions itself as an underwriting data acquisition layer between policyholders and the commercial insurance distribution channel. Key differentiators include a policyholder-driven data ownership model and a change-tracking feature that shows modifications to client records over time.

Ferro was selected for the BrokerTech Ventures 2022 accelerator cohort, receiving USD 50K and access to a multi-billion-dollar distribution platform. The company reported approximately 40 end-user clients in its early stage (2021-2022) and completed a Pre-Seed financing round in July 2023. Strategic partnerships with Holmes Murphy and INSURICA Direct, both announced in October 2023, extend the platform's reach across two major independent brokerage networks.
