Overview

Octo Telematics is a telematics and IoT data analytics platform for the auto insurance industry, serving carriers, fleet operators, automotive OEMs, and mobility providers worldwide. Founded in Rome in 2002, the company offers usage-based insurance (UBI) enablement, connected vehicle intelligence, and claims automation as B2B SaaS and API-based services.

The platform is built on a proprietary database that spans over 610 billion kilometres of driving data and more than 525,000 analyzed crash and claims events. Core products include insurance telematics for UBI and pay-as-you-drive programs, a crash detection and FNOL claims workflow engine, a smartphone-based telematics SDK (DigitalDriver), and fleet and mobility management tools. Octo also manufactures OBD dongles and black-box devices distributed to insurance partners for hardware-based data collection.

With more than 6 million connected users globally, Octo holds the largest telematics database in the insurance sector by driving data volume. The company has offices in Boston, London, Madrid, Stuttgart, Sao Paulo, and Shanghai in addition to its Rome headquarters. Current investors include Pamplona Capital Management, Tennine AG, and Sir John Peace; CEO Corrado Sciolla joined in April 2024.
