Overview

MDC Information Systems is a Dublin, Ireland-based insurance software vendor operating since 1987, describing itself as "the insurance industry software expert in Ireland." The company builds and licenses purpose-built policy lifecycle software for insurance companies and brokers, delivered either on-premise or as a cloud service, rather than holding underwriting authority or a broking book of its own.

Its two core products are InsureIT, a policy administration platform for insurance companies and carriers, and BrokerIT, a cloud-based EDI front and back office platform for brokers built on top of InsureIT. Both cover commercial business, commercial vehicle, household, travel, private motor, pleasure craft, and pet insurance lines. MDC also offers consultancy, bespoke software development, and hosted or managed services to insurance sector clients.

The company has long-standing relationships with major insurers operating in the Irish market, and its white-label BrokerIT platform has powered a number of niche consumer insurance brands over the years, including MissQuote.ie, Insure My Holiday, Insure My Van, and travelinsure.ie.
