Overview

ICEYE is a satellite data and earth observation platform serving insurers, reinsurers, government agencies, and financial institutions. Founded in 2014, the company operates a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite constellation, with 54 operational satellites as of early 2026. SAR technology enables imaging through cloud cover and darkness, making it particularly valuable for natural catastrophe monitoring and damage assessment in insurance workflows.

The platform provides on-demand satellite tasking, near-real-time flood and wildfire monitoring, and processed intelligence derivatives delivered via a RESTful API. Insurance and reinsurance customers use ICEYE data for pre-event risk quantification, post-event damage assessment, and claims processing. Products are integrated with major reinsurance management platforms and catastrophe modeling systems.

ICEYE has raised USD 991 million across 17 funding rounds, reaching a USD 2.8 billion valuation following its Series E in December 2025. The company reports revenues exceeding USD 250 million with USD 100+ million in annual profitability. Customers include AXA, Swiss Re, Munich Re, and more than 40 major reinsurers and government agencies globally.
