Overview

Gemese is a cloud-based insurance portfolio and commission management platform for insurance mediators and brokers in Portugal. Developed by Milenia, Lda., a Portuguese software company specializing in IT for the insurance sector, the product is purpose-built for insurance intermediaries handling P&C and life insurance products in the Portuguese market.

The platform is delivered as SaaS with no installation required, accessible through a web browser and native mobile applications for iOS and Android. Core capabilities include policy tracking, commission management, customer relationship management, sub-agent management, and claims handling. The software connects in real time with major Portuguese insurance companies through direct webservice integrations, enabling data exchange between mediators and insurers.

As of 2025, Gemese serves approximately 300 active insurance mediators in Portugal. In October 2025, Milenia announced a partnership with Frank, a Portuguese AI company, to incorporate automated workflow capabilities and data analytics into the platform.
