Overview

Covie is an insurance technology company founded in 2020 that provides API infrastructure connecting businesses and applications to insurance policy data in real time, directly from issuing carriers. Often described as "Plaid for insurance," Covie's platform enables third-party applications to retrieve, validate, and monitor insurance policy records without manual processes or document uploads.

The company graduated from Y Combinator and raised approximately USD 4.2-4.7 million in seed funding from investors including Maschmeyer Group Ventures, MS&AD Ventures, New Stack Ventures, PEAK6 Investments, Sovereign's Capital, and TI Platform Management. In March 2025, TheGuarantors acquired Covie's insurance verification technology to power its Zero-Gap Renters Insurance solution, with co-founder and CEO Trent Harvey joining as a strategic advisor.

Covie's API supports use cases including insurance verification, policy monitoring, compliance management, and insurance distribution -- addressing the fragmented, manual processes that have historically made insurance data difficult to access programmatically.
