Overview

Coopengo is a policy administration software provider for insurance carriers, mutual associations, brokers, banks, employee benefit institutions, and claim administrators in France and Europe. Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Paris, the company publishes Coog, an open-source platform that manages the full insurance contract lifecycle across health, provident, and borrower product lines.

Coog covers underwriting, contract amendments, renewals, billing, claims processing and indemnification, and distribution network management. The platform is delivered as SaaS with biannual major releases and is also available for self-hosted and cloud deployments via Docker-based containerization. A dual parameterization engine supporting both rules and process configurations enables product-specific customization without requiring code changes.

The company serves approximately 20 client organizations whose platforms together cover more than 2 million people, with around 400 active users of the system. Coopengo has operated on a bootstrapped basis since founding. Its open-source distribution model and API-enabled architecture are positioned as alternatives to traditional proprietary policy administration systems in the European market.
