Overview

AlphaGeo is a geospatial climate risk analytics platform serving P&C insurers, institutional investors, and infrastructure operators. Founded in 2022 by strategic geographer Dr. Parag Khanna, the company -- formerly known as Climate Alpha before its April 2024 rebrand -- delivers location-level physical climate risk assessments that help insurers calibrate underwriting premiums, evaluate portfolio exposure, and develop customer adaptation strategies.

The platform integrates thousands of geospatial datasets spanning climate hazards (floods, wildfires, heatwaves, droughts), socioeconomic conditions, market factors, and policy drivers into a proprietary spatial intelligence index. Core products include a Climate Resilience Suite for asset screening and financial impact modeling, a Global Adaptation Layer that maps local climate adaptation infrastructure, and Darwin AI, an agentic co-pilot for portfolio data navigation. The platform is delivered via SaaS and a REST API documented at docs.alphageo.ai.

AlphaGeo raised a USD 5M seed round in November 2023 led by Jungle Ventures, with participation from DCVC, Enterprise Singapore, and 28 other investors, bringing total funding to USD 11.1M. Notable institutional clients include Zurich Group Investment Management, EQT, Oaktree Capital, and MARA (Nasdaq: MARA), where the platform was used to forecast energy costs and insurance premiums for data center portfolios.
