Overview

Alpaca is a Vietnam-based insurance technology company that provides a cloud-native core insurance platform for non-life insurers and digital insurance distributors across Southeast Asia. The company was established in 2020, evolving from Unicorn Solutions (founded 2014), which had served as a technology subcontractor delivering digital transformation projects for major Vietnamese and Singaporean insurers. In January 2025, Alpaca was officially acquired by TPIsoftware Corporation, a Taiwan-based software company specializing in AI and digital transformation, marking a new phase of expansion across Asia.

Alpaca's platform covers the complete non-life insurance policy lifecycle -- from product design, rating, and quotation through policy management, claims, reinsurance, CRM, finance, and reporting. Built as an Insurance-as-a-Service (IaaS) model, the platform enables carriers and insurtechs to launch new digital insurance products rapidly without requiring custom development, positioning Alpaca as a core system of record for non-life insurers modernizing legacy infrastructure.

The company has delivered projects for prominent Vietnamese insurers including Bao Viet and Bao Minh, as well as Singapore-based insurtech companies including MyInsurer, Singlife, Zensur, and 360F. In 2025, Alpaca formed a strategic partnership with VDI (Viet Digital Investment) to co-develop domestically-focused digital insurance infrastructure meeting international standards.
