Wukong Insurance
Internet-native insurance brokerage in China operating the Wukong Bao (悟空保) consumer platform.
Overview
Wukong Insurance (Wukong Bao, 悟空保) is an internet-native insurance brokerage serving individual consumers in China, operated by Anrun International Insurance Brokerage (Beijing) Co., Ltd., a nationally licensed brokerage founded in 2005 under approval from China's insurance regulator.
The company designs and distributes customized critical-illness, accident, medical, life, and annuity insurance products online under the Wukong Bao consumer brand family, which also includes a premium tier ("Wukong Bao Select") and a themed sub-platform ("Jingubang Insurance"). It separately runs a public-sector safety-liability-insurance advisory practice for Beijing government agencies dating to 2009, and an institutional insurance line - insurance bidding, enterprise property coverage, and personal insurance - delivered through provincial branch offices in Beijing, Jilin, Liaoning, Shanxi, Sichuan, and Guangdong (a seventh branch, in Hunan, was deregistered in December 2023).
The brokerage is wholly owned by Beijing Wukong Insurance Technology Group Co., Ltd., founded in August 2015 as one of China's earlier internet-insurance-technology startups. It raised angel, Pre-A, and Series B venture funding between 2015 and 2018 from investors including Meihua Venture Capital, Qingshan Capital, Phoenix Auspicious Capital, 58 Group, and Guohua Life. The company holds insurance brokerage license 260880000000800 and partners with more than 40 carriers, including PICC, Ping An, China Pacific Insurance, Taikang, Huatai, and Allianz, distributing products through its own website and WeChat-linked account channels.
