Webfleet
Cloud-based fleet management and vehicle telematics platform for commercial and logistics fleets
Overview
Webfleet is a fleet management and vehicle telematics platform providing real-time GPS tracking, driver behavior monitoring, route optimization, and compliance tools to commercial fleet operators across transport, logistics, construction, utilities, and healthcare sectors. The platform connects fleet managers, drivers, and vehicles through a cloud-based SaaS solution and integrates with insurance providers to support usage-based insurance (UBI) pricing via telematics data.
The platform delivers vehicle tracking through LINK hardware devices and OEM.connect factory-fitted telematics (activated via VIN, no aftermarket hardware required). OptiDrive 360 provides real-time driver coaching on speed, braking, acceleration, and cornering. The PREMIUM.connect API processes over 1 billion API requests per month, enabling integration with more than 200 third-party software platforms including TMS, ERP, CRM, route planning, and freight exchange systems. ISO 27001 certification (TUV Sud) underpins the security posture.
Founded in Leipzig, Germany in 1999 as Datafactory and acquired by TomTom in 2005 as TomTom Telematics, the platform was rebranded Webfleet following Bridgestone EMEA's EUR 910M acquisition in 2019. The platform now serves approximately 60,000 customers monitoring vehicles in more than 150 countries. Berg Insight ranks Webfleet second in European fleet management, with approximately 735,000 installed units as of end-2023.
