Overview

Waytobill is a recurring payment and direct debit platform for insurance companies, membership organizations, and subscription-based businesses operating in the Nordic market. The company was founded in 2020 by Magnus Bendelin and Alejandro Pino and is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, with a secondary office in Barcelona, Spain.

The platform provides a unified integration -- the Nordic Payment Hub -- that connects merchants to all major Nordic direct debit schemes: Autogiro (Sweden), AvtaleGiro (Norway), Betalingsservice (Denmark), and SEPA Direct Debit (Finland). Payments can be initiated across multiple channels including telesales, online checkout, and QR codes, with identity verification handled via BankID. The API (version 3.0, launched December 2025) exposes full payment lifecycle management including partial payments, refunds, overpayments, and direct debit conversion tracking.

Waytobill raised SEK 5.5M in a seed round in October 2023 led by Wellstreet, with participation from Almi Invest and angel investors. The company was selected for the Mastercard Lighthouse FINITIV Fall 2025 program, one of 15 Nordic and Baltic fintechs chosen for the cohort. As of late 2025 the team numbered approximately 14-15 people.
