Overview
Ticker is a UK telematics motor insurance MGA founded in 2019, serving drivers across personal and commercial auto lines through direct-to-consumer and partnership distribution channels. The company was founded by Richard King, who previously built ingenie, a telematics insurer sold for GBP 100M in 2015.
Ticker underwrites connected motor insurance across six driver segments -- new drivers, older drivers, low-mileage drivers, van drivers, convicted drivers, and electric vehicle owners -- using a proprietary telematics platform built by CTO Neil Walker. Capacity was originally provided exclusively by Munich Re through its Digital Partners unit; in November 2025 Ticker signed a five-year capacity agreement with Allianz UK, which now provides underwriting and claims support across the full portfolio. Ticker operates as a trading name of Ticker Limited, an appointed representative of Davies MGA Services Limited (FCA firm reference 597301).
Since launch, Ticker has insured over 200,000 drivers and wrote GBP 107M in connected motor premium in 2023, with GBP 168M budgeted for 2024. The company reached break-even in November 2023 and ranked 27th in the Insurance Post Top 80 MGAs in 2025, up nine positions year-over-year.
