Overview

The Institutes CPCU Society is a professional association serving risk management and insurance professionals who hold or are pursuing the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation, as well as any insurance professional who wishes to join. Founded in 1944, the Society operates as part of The Institutes Knowledge Group, a collection of 18+ educational brands and affiliates focused on the insurance industry. The Society maintains a network of 120+ local chapters across the United States, Bermuda, Europe, Japan, and Korea.

The Society delivers member value through networking, professional development, and certification support. Core programs include the In2Risk annual conference, a quarterly Insights journal, monthly webinars, a Mentor Match program, facilitated study groups for CPCU candidates, and an online community platform at interact.cpcusociety.org. Annual membership is priced at USD 207, with discounted rates for professionals in developing economies using World Bank classifications.

Membership spans more than 90,000 CPCU designees and insurance professionals globally. The Society conferred 1,726 new CPCU designees in 2025 alongside thousands of AIC, ARM, and AU credential holders through The Institutes.
