Founded in 2006 as Houston International Insurance Group, the company rebranded as Skyward Specialty in November 2020. In December 2025, Skyward announced a live integration with Sixfold AI across six business units and more than ten product lines, with the AI platform preprocessing submissions and generating data-driven recommendations while keeping underwriters in the decision loop.

Skyward reported full year 2025 net income of USD 170.0 million (versus USD 118.8 million in 2024) and Q1 2026 revenue of USD 475.87 million. The company achieved its best-ever combined ratio of 89.4% in Q2 2025, with 18% premium growth in the same period. AM Best rates Skyward A (Excellent) with a Stable outlook, reflecting the company's consistent underwriting performance and capital position.
