The carrier built Canvas Annuity, a proprietary digital distribution platform launched in June 2020 that enables customers to research, select, and purchase a multiyear guaranteed annuity (MYGA) entirely online in approximately 10 minutes, with no commissioned agents and no annual fees. A three-person technology team manages roughly 13 domains on Azure, keeping technology costs below 1% of annual premium. Canvas uses Azure Application Gateway, Azure Front Door for geographic filtering, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud for threat detection.

Since Canvas launched, Puritan Life grew annual premium from approximately USD 50 million to nearly USD 400 million -- a roughly 700% increase -- with Canvas accounting for approximately 75% of total annual premium as of 2024. Direct premiums written reached USD 412.4 million in 2025. In Q4 2025, Amistad Financial Group, LLC completed its acquisition of Puritan Life; business plans remain unchanged post-acquisition.
