Overview
Premiro is a digital insurance brokerage serving individual consumers and small and medium enterprises in Indonesia. It lets customers compare and buy health, travel, property, and motor vehicle insurance from partner carriers through a self-service online platform, replacing the paperwork-heavy, agent-based process typical of the market.
The platform is operated by PT Mitra Ibisnis Terapan (MIT), a technology-focused insurance broker registered with and supervised by Indonesia's Financial Services Authority (OJK) under license KEP-18/NB.1/2016, and a member of the Indonesian insurance and reinsurance brokers association APPARINDO under membership 230-2016. MIT is wholly owned by PT Mitra Iswara & Rorimpandey, a traditional Indonesian insurance broker with more than 40 years of operating history, making Premiro that broker's digital distribution channel rather than a standalone startup.
Purchases follow a three-step online flow: select coverage, complete personal, vehicle, or property details, and activate the policy after online payment. Policies are underwritten by partner insurers, not by Premiro or MIT. Premiro also has a distribution partnership with CekAja.com, an Indonesian financial products comparison site, through which it extends its insurance comparison, purchase, and claims-assistance services to a wider audience.
