Overview

Oxbotica (now trading as Oxa) is an autonomous vehicle software company that has made insurance an integral part of its commercialisation strategy. Founded in 2014 by Paul Newman and Ingmar Posner from the University of Oxford, the company develops a vehicle-agnostic autonomous driving software stack, Universal Autonomy, that it deploys with enterprise clients across mining, agriculture, industrial logistics, grocery delivery, and urban mobility. Oxa has worked with Marsh, Apollo Group, and Aioi Nissay Dowa Europe to create the first bespoke autonomous vehicle insurance policies in the UK, and partners with AXA XL on smart insurance product development.
