Overview
Orvia Underwriting is a pan-European Managing General Agent (MGA) platform that consolidates multiple specialist underwriting operations across London and European markets, distributing through brokers to a broad commercial and specialty client base. Launched in January 2026 by Ardonagh Europe, a division of the Ardonagh Group, the platform brings together previously separate MGA businesses under a unified brand and operating structure. The name is derived from the Celtic "Or" (gold) and Latin "Via" (path).
The platform underwrites across 20+ product lines spanning Financial Lines, Property and Casualty, Specialty Risks, and High Net Worth and Fine Art. Capacity is provided through Ardonagh Group relationships and third-party carrier partners. The combined portfolio exceeded EUR 250 million in gross written premium at launch. Distribution follows a wholesale and retail broker model serving the London Market and pan-European broker networks.
Geographic operations extend across Ireland (headquarters in Dublin and Cork), the United Kingdom (London), Germany, and the Netherlands. In May 2026, Orvia expanded its Dutch presence by integrating three entities -- Classicus Europe BV, Private Insurance Assuradeuren (PIA), and Private Insurance Nederland (PIN) -- and opened a second Netherlands location in Rotterdam. The platform is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland (Firm Reference Number: C433998) and the UK Financial Conduct Authority (Firm Reference Number: 944662).
