Next Insurtech operates HoldCover.com, a general insurance brokerage and comparison platform serving individual and business insurance buyers in Hong Kong. The company was founded in 2018 as Next Insurtech Limited and was incubated at Cyberport, Hong Kong's digital technology hub, before launching the consumer-facing HoldCover.com platform in 2020.
HoldCover.com aggregates 20+ partner insurers and 1,000+ products across motor, travel, home, and commercial P&C lines, offering instant quotation, side-by-side comparison, online application, and claims management for individuals and businesses. Sales are supported by a licensed-agent call centre and distributed in part through licensed agency partners including ALGO Financial Consultant, E&A Insurance Agency, and R&B Insurance Agency.
The platform runs on a proprietary Policy Issuance System built by Next Insurtech, covering quotation, application, secure payment, underwriting, and digital policy delivery. Working with the Logistics and Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre, the company also built Next InsurChain, a general-insurance blockchain running on IBM Hyperledger Fabric that lets insurers, regulators, and authorised third parties exchange policy data securely. HoldCover.com received a Certificate of Merit at the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2020 and reported 15 connected insurers as of March 2021.
