Overview

NCCI (National Council on Compensation Insurance) is a nonprofit rating and advisory organization that manages the nation's largest workers' compensation insurance database, providing data analytics, loss cost recommendations, classification tools, and compliance services to carriers and regulators across the United States. The organization serves as the licensed rating/advisory bureau for workers' compensation in approximately 38 states, analyzing industry trends and supporting the administration of state workers' compensation systems.

NCCI delivers a suite of digital tools and APIs that enable its affiliates -- carriers and state regulators -- to access classification codes, rate tables, experience modification factors, and policy data programmatically. Core platforms include Riskworkstation for experience modification data, NCCI Atlas for circulars and rate filings, Class Look-Up for classification search, Data Manager Dashboard for statistical reporting compliance, and RMAPS for residual market applications. The organization also operates a developer portal with a growing library of REST APIs and a sandbox test environment.

The organization serves nearly 40 state governments and more than 900 insurance carriers. It convenes the Annual Insights Symposium (AIS), an annual conference that draws over 900 insurance industry leaders for education, research presentations, and networking. NCCI also offers NCCI Academy, a structured learning platform for carriers and regulators, and a public Learning Center for agents, brokers, and the general public.
