Rather than opening a client relationship with a premium quote, the firm builds its recommendations from ingested business and accounting data, producing a continuously updated view of a company's risk profile that it uses to suggest policy and supplier changes as conditions change.

The company operates from a single Copenhagen office and was founded in 2023 by Mads Gjerrild, Albert Hjelmsted Nygard, and Philip Munksgaard. Its brokerage covers general commercial P&C lines for SMEs alongside pension advisory services for the same client base; producer or agent headcount is not publicly disclosed.

Leaf's advisory platform is driven by an internal AI risk-analysis component it calls "vera," which processes ingested company data to evaluate risk and generate recommendations. The company is regulated in Denmark as an insurance intermediary and raised a EUR 1.7 million seed round in mid-2025 led by Caesar Ventures with participation from EIFO (Denmark's export and investment fund) to expand the model.
