Overview
K2 Insurance Services is a specialty insurance holding company that acquires and incubates Managing General Agencies (MGAs) to build a diversified portfolio of specialty insurance programs. Founded in 2011 in San Diego by Pat Kilkenny, K2 grew to manage USD 2 billion in premium volume through 36 MGAs across specialty commercial, transportation, international, and personal lines segments. The company was acquired by Warburg Pincus from Lee Equity Partners in December 2022, with Warburg Pincus supporting continued acquisitions and organic growth. In 2026, K2 received Lloyd's in-principle approval for Special Purpose Arrangement Syndicate 1954, expected to write GBP 80 million in its inaugural year.
