InnSure

InnSure is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to catalyzing bold insurance solutions to address climate risk and facilitate energy transition. Founded in 2019 in partnership with Cambridge Innovation Center, InnSure has evolved from a general insurtech focus to become a leading platform for climate-focused insurance innovation. The organization operates at the intersection of insurance innovation and climate change, bringing together insurance carriers, reinsurers, startups, government agencies, and NGOs to rethink how insurance is designed, distributed, and financed in the context of climate risk.

InnSure's core mission is to create an insurance and risk financing system that enables climate-challenged communities and energy transition projects to manage the risks that threaten their success. The organization administers the USD 5 million Insurance Innovation Prize on behalf of NYSERDA, and runs the Creation Labs acceleration platform in partnership with GreenieRE. It works across four impact pillars: Close Protection Gaps, Accelerate Energy Transition, Facilitate Community Resilience, and Promote Nature+ Practices.

In 2023, InnSure was selected by New York State to administer a USD 6.5 million initiative (Insurance Innovation for Climate-Technology Solutions) funded by NYSERDA, cementing its role as a trusted broker between government, industry, and innovators in the climate insurance space.
