Connecting the Indian insurance ecosystem to accelerate digital transformation
Overview
The India InsurTech Association (IIA) is a not-for-profit trade association that serves insurtech startups, carriers, reinsurers, technology companies, brokers, and insurance professionals in the Indian market. The organization works to advance digital transformation in the insurance industry through member programming, research, and cross-border collaboration.
IIA conducts research in partnership with Boston Consulting Group (BCG), publishes an annual InsurTech Report, and hosts a flagship annual conference in Mumbai. Programs include the First 20% initiative for supporting Indian insurtechs pursuing international markets, a quarterly InsurTech Dynamic Map, a video podcast series, and working groups covering various industry topics.
The association counts over 300 members across 14 categories, including carriers (Bajaj Allianz, HDFC Ergo, SBI Life, Bharti AXA), global reinsurers (Munich Re, Swiss Re, SCOR), and technology companies. IIA maintains partnerships with international associations including Insurtech Australia, the Israeli Insurtech Association, Italian InsurTech, MENA InsurTech, and Japan InsurTech, as well as domestic partners such as GIFT City Gujarat, Nasscom DeepTech, ONDC, and BIMTECH.
