Homesite Insurance is a direct-to-consumer property and casualty insurance company founded in 1997 and headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. A pioneer in online insurance purchasing, Homesite was among the first insurers to allow customers to obtain quotes and buy policies entirely online.
In September 2014, American Family Insurance acquired Homesite Group for approximately USD 616 million, making it a wholly owned subsidiary that operates as a distinct entity with its own brand, operations, and business relationships. Homesite has grown to be the 24th largest homeowners insurer in the US.
