Overview
Hagerty is the world's leading specialty insurance carrier for collector vehicles and an automotive lifestyle brand. Founded in 1984 by Frank and Louise Hagerty in Traverse City, Michigan, the company was born out of the founders' frustration at finding adequate insurance for vintage wooden boats. They invented the first agreed-value policy for collector boats, then expanded into classic cars in 1991. Today, Hagerty insures more than 2.5 million vehicles in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, covering approximately 54% of the U.S. specialty collector vehicle market. The company is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange.
