The brokerage focuses on smallholder and marginal farmers as its primary client base. Products are distributed through its POSP (Partner of Service Provider) program, a network of licensed agents operating in rural communities across India. GramCover has reached approximately 1.7 million rural customers and insured over 3.7 million farmers since its founding in 2016.
The company developed a proprietary crop insurance risk analysis tool for underwriting assessment, which integrates with insurance carrier systems to support policy issuance. GramCover raised USD 10.1 million across seven rounds from investors including Siana Capital, Inflexor Ventures, Flourish Ventures, and Omidyar Network India.
