Gore Mutual Insurance Company is one of Canada's oldest property and casualty mutual insurers, founded in 1839 as the Gore District Mutual Fire Insurance Company to serve farmers in the Gore District of Upper Canada (now Ontario). Headquartered in Cambridge, Ontario, with offices in Toronto and Vancouver, Gore Mutual offers personal and commercial P&C insurance through a national network of independent brokers. In 2019, the company launched its Next Horizon transformation program, a multi-year initiative to modernize its core technology platform, operating model, and national broker service capabilities. By 2023, Gore Mutual targeted approximately CAD 715 million in gross written premiums, up from CAD 475 million at the outset of Next Horizon.
