Overview

Flitter is a direct-to-consumer pay-per-kilometre auto insurance carrier operating in France, targeting drivers who travel fewer than 10,000 kilometres per year. Founded in 2022 by Hajer Gorgi, Jeremy Steinberg, and Arnaud Dumora, the company was built on the premise that approximately half of French drivers overpay for flat-rate insurance despite low annual mileage. Customers select an annual mileage package between 4,000 and 20,000 km, and pay only for the distance they drive, with mid-term recharge packages available.

Flitter distributes insurance exclusively through digital channels with no physical branch network. Policy management, claims filing, and mileage tracking are handled through the company's digital platform, which integrates with connected vehicle telematics to automate mileage reporting. Claims are processed with photo-based declarations, backed by a network of 2,400+ partner garages across France.

The company is seed-backed with EUR 5.5M in total funding from Global Founders Capital (pre-seed, 2022) and Helvetia Venture Fund (seed, 2023). Helvetia Insurance, the Swiss insurer and strategic investor, has partnered with Flitter to co-develop embedded automotive insurance products for the French market. As of late 2024, Flitter had grown its customer base to an estimated 30,000-60,000 policyholders with a customer satisfaction rating of 4.7-4.8 out of 5.
