Overview
Billy is a construction compliance platform that automates the collection, verification, and tracking of certificates of insurance (COIs), W9s, business licenses, surety bonds, lien waivers, and other compliance documents. Founded by Nyasha Gutsa and Grant Robbins, the company streamlines risk management for general contractors, developers, and property managers by replacing manual spreadsheet-based processes with an intelligent, automated workflow.
The platform operates with two revenue models: a SaaS compliance management tool and an insurance marketplace that leverages compliance data to provide insurance solutions. Billy is a licensed digital broker representing more than 30 insurance carriers, enabling contractors to both manage and purchase insurance in one place.
Billy has earned the trust of ENR's top 20 General Contractors, Home Builders, and Owners, and is recognized as one of the first Black-owned companies integrated into the Procore ecosystem. The company has raised approximately $6.7M in funding and is part of the Travelers Innovation Network.
